This page contains following subjects:
Introduction
Often we give to quickly
water in the garden. Because of this habit the plant roots easy
become lazy.
You better can stimulate the plants too search by them
self for water. Give no water before it really is necessary and
give a lot of water. Do not give a little bit water each day, but
give a lot every few days.
The
type of garden is different and depending the area you live. Clay
soil keeps much more water than sand. The amount of peat in the soil
also is an important element.
You can delay loosing water in the
soil when you grub or scatter some bark of other covering material
between the plants. This keeps the soil in better condition and more
wet. Also the ground water level plays a role, is this very low,
you must give water sooner. Also the situation of the garden, the
sun or shade and the variety of plants are important.
A rock
garden need by normal weather conditions seldom water and a fern
garden in dry period each day.
Very important are plants in containers,
planters, hanging baskets and so on. Theywill have water each day,
even when there is some rain.
Grass need more water because it can
become yellow.
You see, it is not so easy. A matter of green fingers
and feel the situation of your own garden.
Do not give water too
soon.
Only give water in the evening, never in day time when the sun is
shining.
